Scary Story Contest.  Enjoy spooky readings by the winning authors whose work will be published in Write for Fright!  Kids will make their own refreshments:  "Swamp Monster Treats."

Picture Book Artistry November 21, 2009 2:00 pm Youth Services Department Illustrator Lori Eslick (Read for me Mama, Barefoot Poems) will tell how she turns an idea into a painting.  Laurie Keller (Scrambled States of America, Arnie the Donut) will talk about her new books and create some on-the-spot cartoons.  Autographing and a book sale are hosted by North Shore Books of North Muskegon. Locker Hooking Class November 24 6:30 pm Locker Hooking is a simple craft that creates durable, attractive items, from rugs to purses and more.  It uses a locker hooking tool, fabric scraps and rug canvas.  It is an easy and relaxing craft, easy to take along. Nancy Hartman will have some sample projects in various degrees of completion so students can see the progression of the work.  She will also have some items available to practice with.
