Book Review-Olive Kitteridge

Lots of people have been talking about Olive Kitteridge this fall and winter so I thought I'd read it to find out what all the fuss was about.  It won the Pulitzer Prize in  2009.

It is a told in a series of short, interconnected stories, and follows the live of Olive Kitteridge.  Some of the stories only have Olive as a minor character, these stories are about Olive's friends or neighbors.  It is set in a small, fictional town on the midcoast of Maine.

I enjoyed the book, but wasn't overwhelmed with awe by it, perhaps because I found the jump from one story to the next a bit jarring.  Olive is not a character you fall in love with  right away.  She is very opinionated and prickly, and doesn't have much patience with her fellow townspeople.  She does grow during the story, and the end is very sweet.
