Book Review: Mennonite in a Little Black Dress

Be prepared to laugh.  Rhoda Janzen has a wickedly funny sense of humor.  She tells the story of the 6 months after the double whammy of having her husband leave her and being in a car accident.  She decides to go home to recuperate, home being to the Mennonite community in which she grew up.  Her parents and brothers are still members of the community, but she and her sister have chosen to live in the world.  She describes family dinners with her brothers' families, trips to the assisted living center to visit her mother's friends, and the conundrum of whether or not to date a Mennonite man.  Rhoda also describes episodes from her childhood.   She is currently a professor at Hope College in Holland.
