Book reviews from participants:
Lovers and Players by Jackie Collins: Typical Jackie Collins-social elite rub elbows with working class. Bad choices, bad language, but good plot twist at end.
Unclutter your life in one week by Erin Rooney Doland: Written very well. Since I don't work in an office anymore, I skipped those areas, and the family areas (mine are on their own)-but there are many helpful, useful tipsI hadn't heard before which found useful.
Shadow tag by Louise Erdrich: Love based on control that soon becomes a love/hate/love relationship. There is no limit on how far some people will go to maintain control of another person or how far the person who thinks they are being controlled will go to be free. By any means neccessary.
Four to score by Janet Evanovich: Love her books! Awesome author.
High Five by Janet Evanovich: Awesome author-just when I thought I had it figured out-she throws in a twist. Knows how to keep me on the edge of my seat.
Hot Six by Janet Evanovich: Love Janet Evanovich stories! Stephanie Plum is so interesting. Great books to read-they sure did help me while receiving chemo. Helped keep my mind off the cancer.
Grace by Richard Paul Evans: The book was much more than I was expecting. I cried all the [way] through the last half of the final cassette. What a wonderful story and very well written.
A Funny thing happened on the way to the Future by Michael J. Fox: A Canadian high school drop out made his way to the states and became a well known actor. It's about twists and turns and lessons learned along the way.
Fordlandia by Greg Grandin: Non-fiction- a well researched eye opener. Ford at the turn of the century and into the 1920's. Fordlandia was a "suburb" built in the Amazon rainforest in the 1920's to build a rubber plantation. An amazing story of power, environmental mayhem, and politics that changed the Earth's environment, culture and economics in the 1920's on a large scale, and is still affecting us almost 100 years later. A MUST read for anyone interested in the global world in which we now live.
Playing for Pizza by John Grisham: John Grisham fans beware! This is not his usual fast paced, twisted and intriguing novel. It is a summer read of light romance set in Italy. It is also a novel if you love play by TEDIOUS play of football lingo and technical language about sports plays.
The Everything Health Guide to Schizophrenia by Dean Haycock: Very informative.
Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith: This book so outdoes the 1951 Hitchcok film of the same title, fast paced and exciting. I would recommend this book to my friends.
