Book reviews from participants Aug 23:
A Palette for Murder by Donald Bain: Not as interesting as I had hoped--exactly like the TV series.
DaVinci Code by Dan Brown: Chock full of red herrings. I didn't like the way the story of Jesus was or the idea about him supposedly marrying Mary Magdelene. It was well plotted out. It kept you guessing who dun it!
Deception Point by Dan Brown: Fast paced thriller/mystery. Keeps the reader on edge by going from one "happening" to another. Worth the read for anyone who likes mystery, action, thrillers, and suspense.
Joker One by Donovan Campbell: This book is a real, live account of a platoon leader's account of war in Iraq. He showed leadership in a neat way. One feels as if they know the men involved. It is a book with emotion and very real approach.
My Antonia by Willa Cather: It is helpful to read about other folk ways so you can be more understanding of others, and it was an enjoyable story.
