Happy Throw-Back-Thursday!

A glass floor in the library? You bet!

So many years ago (original to 1895), this glass floor helped natural light travel from level to level. While it continues to help filter light between floors, we can't help but appreciate it for its unique beauty as well!
Fun fact: the glass is sanded galley glass and is 1 3/4 of an inch thick!
Happy Throw-Back-Thursday, everyone! We hope to see you in the library - stop by to browse, use computers, find information, and say hello!

HPL's main building hours: Monday/Tuesday: 10-7
Wednesday/Thursday: 10-5
Friday/Saturday: 10-2

Embrace Art and Music next week!

Springtime: Letting Go to Grow is a one hour virtual workshop where participants will learn about art therapy as well as experience working with art to let go of the bits and pieces that are holding us back.  Art therapy is a wonderful mental health option that requires no artistic ability and is a comfortable way to explore our thoughts and feelings that does not necessarily require verbal expression.  Please join us virtually, with Deb Czechowicz, Registered Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, on May 24th to explore and grow!

You may have seen news articles on the benefits of music therapy for adults with dementia or for those who have lost their ability to speak due to traumatic brain injury.  Pretty cool, right?  But how does it work?  Presented by Audrey Stein, MSW, MT-BC, participants will learn about what music therapy looks like with a variety of populations and the neuroscience research that has led to advancements in the field.  Furthermore, participants will receive insight on how music therapy improves our physical, social, intellectual, and emotional well-being.

To register, VISIT HERE! Free to enjoy.
