How the Pere Marquette Railway Impacted West Michigan6:00 pm, Tuesday, January 5At one time, the Pere Marquette was the largest railroad in Michigan, a product of the consolidation of three Michigan railroads. The railway provided access to cities stretching from Buffalo, New York, to Chicago, and from Bay View (Petoskey) to Toledo, Ohio, with trackage in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Ontario.
