"WRITE FOR FRIGHT" SCARY STORY CONTEST BEGINS

FOR GRADES K-6

Enter Write For Fright!, HPL's scary story contest. Bring your stories and poems to the Library by October 31. The scariest stories will be printed in our Wright for Fright! book. Winners are honored at an Author's Night Award Program on November 14.

Come to Hackley Library for an exciting , interactive presentation about bats. Meet bats from across the world and learn why they are so important to ecosystems--and to you too! You will meet four bats from around the world, including the species of bat Stellaluna was based on.

INSTRUMENT PETTING DAY

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2:00 PM

Is there a musical instrument your child has dreamed of playing, or just can't make up their mind about? We have the perfect program for you. Come to HPL for West Michigan Symphony's "Instrument Petting Day." Drop in to check out an instrument--you child can hold it, play it, and find which musical instrument they like best!
