Jim Crow Museum Virtual Tour

The Jim Crow Museum virtual tour investigates the history of anti-black caricatures, propaganda, and rhetoric in material and popular culture. Most of the collection focuses on Jim-Crow era objects, but exhibit cases that feature enslavement, Reconstruction-era, Civil Rights-era, and contemporary objects are featured as well.

These primary sources are used to document and learn from the past.  Jim Crow laws, social customs, policies, and etiquette demeaned, segregated, and oppressed African Americans in a myriad of ways that continue to influence contemporary life and race relations.

In addition to teaching and opening dialogues about America’s unsavory and discriminatory history, the Jim Crow Museum promotes social and racial justice.
